Directions

1. In one bowl, stir shortening into sugar.

2. Stir in molasses, then egg and beat mixture well

3. In separate bowl blend: flour, cinnamon, ginger, baking soda, and salt then add to sugar mixture.

4. Mix. Chill dough for 1 hour and roll.

5. Grease cookie sheets. Turn out 1/2 dough at a time.

6. Bake at 350° for 8 minutes
